The color buttons are laid out on the toolbar and are used for coloring-in cells in solve mode. There are four colors to choose from - orange, green, yellow and blue. There is also a white button and a button with a red 'X' in it. The white button is used for removing the color from an individual cell, and if you click the red 'X' button then all the colors will be removed.
To use the color tool, first click on the color button corresponding to the color you want to use. That button will remain depressed. Then click on any cell you want to fill in with that color.
This tool is particularly useful for spotting coloring patterns, multi-coloring patterns, and mutant fish such as mutant swordfish and finned-mutant jellyfish.
