Mutant Kraken |
|
A Mutant Kraken is exactly like a Kraken except that it uses mutant fish instead of regular fish. If the fin is the starting point for a forcing chain that has a weak connection into any of the potential eliminations of the unfinned fish, that candidate can be eliminated.
Consider the example on this page. The 5's highlighted in yellow and blue make a finned mutant jellyfish where the primary units are the top-left and top-middle boxes, the 5th and 9th rows. The secondary units are columns 3, 6, 7, and row 1. The 5 in blue is the fin. This 5 (the fin) is weakly connected to the 3 in the same cell, which is strongly connected to the 3 up above, which is weakly connected to the 3 at the far-left, which is strongly connected to the pair of 3's below, which are weakly connected to the other 3 in the same box, which is strongly connected to the 5 in the same cell, which is weakly connected to both 5's highlighted in green. Since both of these 5's in green are potential eliminations from the secondary units of our mutant jellyfish, they can be eliminated.
Consider the following logic. If the fin is false, then the mutant jellyfish is true causing the elimination of all other candidates in the secondary units. If the fin is true, then through the logic of the forcing chain, the 5's in green can be eliminated. Either way they get removed.
Sudoku Snake gives Mutant Krakens a skill value of 9000.
